A few things to share in this edition.
- AKC National Agility Championship to be held in Florida in 2022
- New rules and some interesting new Classes for CPE
- New rules and classes for UKC
The 2022 AKC National Agility Championship will be held at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala. This was the site of the AKC Premier Cup this past May and will be the site of the Golden Retriever National Speciality in October of this year. It is scheduled for April 1-3, 2022
CPE has published their new rule book. In addition to Agility and Canine Scent Sport events, they have added a new event class called SpeedWay. The events are designed to let your dog run and consists of the following activities:
- Drag Race 100 & Drag Race 50 - Think Fast CAT with a 50 yard option.
- Pitstop - a numbered course consisting solely of tunnels.
- Slingshot - a hoops and tunnels course with bonus points for a distance send.
- Pole Position - a course around barrels. This comes in a solo and a two dog&handler team version.
- HairPin - A two dog&handler relay event. A quick up and back through some hoops and a tunnel.
UKC has published their new rule book. There are three new classes
- Dynamic Agility - Tunnels - A course consisting solely of tunnels.
- Dynamic Agility - Hurdles - A course consisting of jumps and up to two tunnels.
- Dynamic Agility - 3 of a Kind - A point accumulation game with bonus points. All obstacles are allowed with the exception of the hoop tunnel, pause box/table.
