It has been a while since I have done one of these. Here are a few recent items.
The widening of US-17 between Zolfo Springs and Arcadia was mostly complete on the last trip to Arcadia. It was scheduled for completion “Summer 2018” and it looks like they will complete close to the end of Summer. There will now be a minimum of two lanes in each direction on US-17 all the way to Punta Gorda.
The AKC Judges Blog had a couple of interesting items in the past couple of weeks. The most recent is a redesign of the Course Design Requirements Template. They also issued an update on Premier Challenges (https://akcagilityjudges.wordpress.com/2018/09/05/premier-challenge-updates/). Tampa Bay Agility Club appears to be taking a break from hosting trials in 2019. However they became the first club to get into my system for 2020 with trials on the first and third weekends in February 2020.
I have an AKC event schedule Excel spreadsheet that can be used to calculate important dates for an AKC agility trial like the deadline to submit the application to AKC, etc. I got the idea from a Nevada trial secretary who had a web page that would do the same thing. She got out of the business and eventually shut down her web site. The spreadsheet is located on the Files page. Since it is an Excel spreadsheet, you can fiddle with the formulas or add additional checkpoint dates (i.e., order ribbons) as you desire. Just plug in the first trial date & the number of trial days and it will calculate the rest. It has a column that is color coded based upon the number of days from the current date. If anyone has anything to add to it that would be useful to the community, let me know.
