Future Premium and Fun Match / Workshop / Camp entries will have an “Add to My Calendar” link. Clicking on this link will take you to a page that will allow you to add the event to your calendar. There are currently five calendar options: Google, Yahoo, Hotmail, Outlook and iCal. The first three will take you to the selected web site and the last two will download a “.ics" file to your device and will hopefully be processed by an app (on my Mac they opened Calendar).
Note, I originally tried putting the buttons directly on the page but they did not display properly when when these blog entries are propagated to the social media or email.
What happens when you click on one of the calendar buttons will depend upon the destination. The web based calendars open the event edit page and you can modify the event and save or just discard the event. iCal/Outlook opened Calendar on my Mac and gave me the option which calendar to put it in or just delete the event at that point. Other applications may behave differently.
I will be creating the event information for the Premium entries and the event organizer will be creating the event for the Match/Workshop/Camp entries.
