AKC Regulation Change

If a Field Rep or VMO measures a dog into a hight class that they are not entered in, the class (preferred/regular) may be changed provided the dog has not been run yet. This also goes for future trials that have closed. This goes into effect on February 1, 2017. The following is the new added paragraph to Chapter 1 section 21 of the regulations:

If a VMO or Field Representative at a trial measures a dog into a height other than what they entered, the entry may be changed from Regular to Preferred or from Preferred to Regular, as long as the dog has not run any classes that day. If the dog has already run, the change may be made for the next trial day(s).  The exhibitor must provide the Trial Secretary the AKC Agility Measurement Form when requesting the class change.

Some new trials

Pals and Paws has added a USDAA trial at St. Johns County Fairgrounds May 19-21, 2017.

Miami Obedience Club has added a two day trial Dec 2-3, 2017 at Tropical Park. I guess that this means that the October trial will be three days like the March trial (it has not appeared on the AKC calendar yet). Does this indicate a shift to four 3 day trials for 2018?

Southeastern Livestock Pavilion

Construction is nearing completion on the new back arena (seating for 300 vs > 4500). I have some photos that will give you an idea of what it looks like. Construction Progress At the time the photos were taken, they still needed to install the lights and fans. Do not think that the fans will be too necessary for MADTA’s February trial but the lights will be critical.
